OUR SUSTAINABILITY WORK

ETHICALLY MADE

We're dedicated to crafting clothing with care and purpose. In today’s world, it’s more crucial than ever to be mindful of our environmental impact and take steps to minimize it. We’ve put in the effort to weave sustainability into every stage of our production process - protecting the people behind our garments and ensuring the materials we use are both ethical and eco-friendly. We believe that everyone has the power to make meaningful changes that will help safeguard our planet for future generations.

We carefully select our fabrics from the most sustainable sources available, including recycled materials and eco-friendly synthetic fibers. For example, we use polyester made from recycled PET bottles. We’re committed to increasing our use of recycled fabrics as they become more widely available.

For products that require filling, we use Primaloft Eco, made from 70% post-consumer recycled materials. Our suppliers of trimmings, such as labels, zippers, and hangtags, are continuously developing more sustainable alternatives, and we stay updated on the latest innovations in these areas.

In line with European legislation, all fabrics and trims we use comply with REACH regulations (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals) and the restricted substances list, which outlines which chemicals are forbidden or limited. We regularly test our materials to ensure they stay well within the recommended limits and remain safe for the environment, even after washing.

WE CARE ABOUT THE WORKERS RIGHTS

We believe that everyone deserves safe and fair working conditions, and we closely monitor our production process to ensure these standards are met. From the very beginning, we’ve built trusted relationships with suppliers who share our values. To ensure accountability, each supplier signs MK’s strict code of conduct, which is designed to protect the rights of workers in the garment industry. Our code includes policies against discrimination, child and forced labor, and ensures the freedom to unionize, a living wage, and adherence to health and safety standards.

CERTIFICATIONS

Every factory we partner with is certified by the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), ensuring they undergo unannounced annual inspections by an independent party. These checks assess working conditions, including wages, working hours, and the overall work environment, to ensure they meet the required standards.

All our clothes has passed REACH to ensure human health is protected and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals.

Besides BSCI our factories offer the following certifications:

OEKO-TEX 100

provides assurance of safety and environmental friendliness for textile products.
The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 isa globally recognized testing system that guarantees textiles are free from potentially harmful substances.

GOTS

Global Organic Textile Standard and is essentiallya set of criteria that ensures the end-to-end garment production process is carried out sustainably and ethically.
A set of requirements must be met for garments to be deemed GOTS certified.

WRAP

Promotes safe, lawful, humane, and ethical manufacturing worldwide through a thorough audit and certification process. This ensures that our garments comply with 12 key principles, including fair compensation, the prohibition of forced labor, and a strong emphasis on health and safety.

GRS

internationally recognized certification that verifies the recycled content of products and ensures responsible practices throughout the supply chain. It is aimed at promoting the use of recycled materials and reducing environmental impact.

TRANSPORTATION

We continuously aim to significantly reduce the environmental impact of our transportation operations by cutting carbon emissions from logistics and product delivery. Today, 90% of our goods is shipped from production facilities to our warehouse in sweden by railway or sea.

PACKAGING

Adopting a more sustainable approach, we prioritize packaging made from recycled or biodegradable materials. All of our products are packaged in ziplock bags made from 100% recycled plastic, which can be recycled again. These bags can be sealed and resealed multiple times, so if you need to return any items, you can simply use the same bag, eliminating the need for a new plastic bag. Designed for reuse, our ziplock bags are perfect for any other purpose you find them suitable for.
